[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]On February 12th, my team of photographers at Deep Blue Images and myself had the thrilling honor of capturing Iggy Pop, The Godfather of Punk, live on stage as he talked and sang his way through 'Songs and Stories', a fundraising event organized by Inclusion Cayman.
Inclusion Cayman is focused on supporting and enabling families to speak up for opportunities for people with disabilities to enjoy the same environments, lifestyle and living conditions that are readily available and afforded to individuals without disabilities.
The event was held at the Harquail Theatre, a small and intimate space that was packed with around 500 Iggy Pop fans. Some had brought with them their much treasured Iggy Pop albums hoping for an autograph.
Prior to the event, Iggy Pop met privately with sponsors of the event. The indomitable Vicky Wheaton was MC for the night and introduced Iggy on stage to loud and enthusiastic applause.
The program for the evening was to have Vicky interview The Godfather of Punk himself and then watch a few of Cayman's own phenomenal bands belt out their versions of well know Iggy Pop songs. Bands that played were; Suckerbox, Clever Knots and Kuhyah. But the plan for Iggy to stay in his seat failed spectacularly as he jumped up, introduced each band member by name and then sang as well. The crowd was hooked and up dancing in their seats and in front of the stage.
For the team at Deep Blue Images, this event was one of THE highlights in our respective careers as photographers. I mean, to sit right front stage, just a few feet away from the legend that is Iggy Pop, was completely emotional. We're still walking on air!

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Hollywood hits Cayman! The Cayman Islands hosted the latest HBO MAX reality show "FBoy Island" and I was hired to be the Set/Stills photographer. My job was to photograph all the Behind the Scenes (BTS) for the 3 lead ladies and the 24 men, half of which are Nice guys and half as players, aka FBoys. While many in Cayman are unimpressed with the title of the show, my personal experience was nothing but wonderful.
Day 1 On Set - the message was clear - The Director was firm with me - Get the shots, but don't ever be on camera - get in and get out of the camera's way and whatever it takes, don't get in the way. Slightly daunting when you are surrounded by 27 huge video cameras, always on the go.
What an amazing opportunity to be on set with such a big budget production. I don't think I have ever worked so hard in my life, as my day ran from noon to midnight and often later, 6 days a week - however, I learned more in 5 weeks than I ever could have imagined,
Working alongside such an experienced and talented camera crew as a true honor. The entire crew and team were incredibly hard working and also completely dedicated to their trades as Producers, Cinematographers, Lighting specialists aka Gaffers, Art department, Audio Specialists, Casting/Talents Managers, Hair and Make-up...and the list goes on. There were over 150 crew that came in from the USA and another 50 -100 locals hired to help on set. Many took me under their wing to show me the tricks of the trade.
The amount of information I learned about how these shows are put together was mind blowing. Personally I think what was the most interesting was the lighting. It was fascinating to watch how they could take the natural sunlight and by diffusing the sunshine with bounce boards and silks, could create the most magical light I had ever seen.

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]I had the distinct pleasure of being invited to Grand Cayman's Lions' Pool to photograph Cayman's talented young swimmers. One of which qualified for the Japan Olympics and then went on to break her own personal best record at the Olympics during her 100 meter free style event.
Lions' Pool is where these athletes spend most of their days practicing and working out. Hour upon hour of training.
